Project Description
The Brendan Iribe Center is outfitted with thousands of actuators and sensors, each capturing details on temperature, occupancy, and so much more – can we use this information to optimize the functionality of the building? Having access to this wealth of data can give us insights on how people use the building, occupancy, temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, and much more.
- How can we maximize human comfort inside a building while minimizing energy consumption?
- What ways can we do this with respect to existing policies and regulations, or even new ones, such as the need for increased ventilation indoors due to COVID?
- How can we build visualizations to show and demonstrate inter-relationships?
- Such as keeping track of the current state of the building (by its sensors), as well as changes and how they can propagate across the building
- Develop AR/VR to provide relevant information for maintenance or repair (i.e. temporal and location specific information)
